The Ideas and Ideals on which Motto +3 Degree College stands have been reflected in the crest which is read as ” Satyam Param Dhimahi”. Since its inception the college has been striving hard to inculcate three simple words Satyam Param Dhimahi in the minds of the learners so that they are able to seek truth, divinity and knowledge.
Satyam means the truth- not what we think about it, but what it is not our ideas about it, but its reality. It signifies truth-not any conception about it, but truth itself.
Param means absolute, ultimate, supreme and also enlightens to follow the path of truthfulness.
Dhimahi means to meditate and focus our mind on God, so that we must be able to concentrate and direct our mental energies towards task in hand-which is communion with God. It also implies to posses the supreme wisdom of the world.
The College crest comprises the four symbols such as the Temple, the Veena, the Burning Lamp and the Open Book which are crystal clear. It symbolises how our temple of learning aims at expediting the process of teaching and learning keeping in view the past glories, the present scenario and the prosperous future.
The Temple reflects a synthesis of arts, ideas, beliefs values and the way of life. But in the crest the symbol temple refers to the Temple of Lord Shiva, which means the great God of Universe who is all auspiciousness.
The Veena symbolises light and the strings represent various feelings. Veena is seen abode of divinity with each of its physical parts signifying the seat of some subtle aspect of God or Goddess. Here in the crest, Veena stands for Jnana Veena, the icon of all knowledge.
The Lamp with its flickering flame ever aluminates, ever awaken, ever enlightens and ever shines a thing of beauty. It dispels the darkness of ignorance, blindness and superstition and also leads the changing world of wisdom. The Light of divinity, wisdom, intellect and good works are manifestation of the symbolic nature of the lamp. It is also a beacon of light to the navigators in the deep dark and perilous seas.
The Open Book is traditionally believed to be a true companion of man. Unlimited access to books always been considered a window to the world, a way to expand thoughts and extend the horizons of the landscape someone may travel day by day. The image of open book also reflects how the printed materials has come to life in the imagination of the life.
